On Our War With Iran

The idiocy of both President Trump and our war with Iran is shown in a quote from Trump in an article announcing an agreement to end our war with Iran:
I hereby fully authorize the toll-free opening of the Strait of Hormuz…
My goodness, Donald Trump’s ignorance is on full display here. Lest we forget, the Strait of Hormuz was open before the war began, so America negotiated for the condition that existed before the war, and you do not have to be Alexander the Great to know that is stupid.
Also, Iran’s nuclear program was satisfactorily constrained by a 2015 treaty that Trump withdrew America from in his first term.
There was no point to this war. It was a discretionary war fought solely to satiate the ego of Donald Trump – a man of no moral or intellectual substance. Every death in this war – from 15 Americans to 160 Iranian schoolgirls to everyone else – was a slaughter that should never have happened, and some were war crimes.
Honestly, though, what were we expecting? Donald Trump is a man of zero moral or intellectual substance, an ignorant liar who believes the moon is part of Mars. We are being governed accordingly.
We deserve better than this. We deserve better than the status quo of Republicans enabling Trump’s witlessness and Democrats unable to offer substantive opposition.
